Baja Oeste de Portugal, SS1 (FIM/FMP, SSV)
In the SSV category there is always a hard and unpredictable fight for victory or podium. The fate of the championship title and positions in the Top 5 in the SSV classification depend on the results of the final round - almost every change of positions in the race can immediately change the balance of strength in the group of leaders.
In the race continues to lead Pedro Antunes (Can-Am Maverick X3), who has already won yesterday's prologue and today's SS1. But his overall advantage is still small - only 76 seconds....
The top four positions in the race are now held by the main podium contenders in the Portuguese championship - Pedro Antunes, Luis Cidade, Pedro Santinho Mendes, Pedro Pinha (all four in the 2.5 minute interval). So tomorrow's final special stage could be a real thriller.
After SS1 (SSV)

2. Cidade/Mendonça (Can-Am) +1:15.8
3. Mendes/Santos (Can-Am) +2:05.9

Baja Oeste de Portugal, SS1 (Auto)
The positional battle for the overall Campeonato Portugal de Todo-o-terreno title now continues. Both contenders, João Ferreira and João Dias, are focused on their main tasks.
João Dias (Can-Am Maverick X3) won the first big special stage, got a bonus point for this success and became the race overall leader - only this result gives him some chance in the fight for the title.
In contrast, João Ferreira (Mini JCW Rally Plus) has avoided unnecessary risk and is now third in the race. He needs to finish in seventh position at least to become the overall Portuguese champion. Everything will now be decided on Sunday on the final 169.9km special stage.
Now, after the prologue and SS1, Ferreira has already collected 119 points - against Dias' 99.

🎤We have just finished the first stage here in Baja Oeste. It was a very difficult stage for us. It was super narrow, super tricky for our big cars. And we have a little mechanical problem in the last 60 kilometers. But OK, it was not the ideal result for the fighting, for the overall in this race. But it was a very good and positive day for our championship, because even with like this, we finished third overall. Occasionally just won an extra point for the stage. But we keep in a very good position for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the big day, 170 km, but we'll do our best and try just to bring the car home and the Portuguese championship as well.

Polish Championship: the fantastic triumph of the Małuszyński family
The winner of the race was the crew of Krzysztof Hołowczyc and Łukasz Kurzeja (BMW X3 CC), who won both special stages and was two minutes ahead of the nearest rival. Thus, Hołowczyc finally took revenge for the failure in the middle of the season, when he was unable to finish three consecutive rounds of the Polish Championship.
The family crew of Michał Małuszyński and Julita Małuszyńska succeeded in their confrontation on Rajd Niepodległości. They finished second in the race and 52.5s ahead of the duo of Maciej Giemza and Rafał Marton. After some complicated calculations (coefficient 2 and double stage bonuses) it turned out that Małuszyński won the overall Polish Championship with a score of 288:287 over Giemza!

Portugal's Bruno Santos achieved maximum success in the race - he won the prologue, both special stages and became the overall winner by 5.5 minute lead. Interestingly, last year he was also only at the final round to become vice-champion of Portugal.
In the FIM Bajas World Cup round standings, the Portuguese seized the initiative at the finish of the race - they now have the top three positions. Tiago Santos on an AJP bike took the podium at the last moment. The winner was David Megre (Kawasaki), with Pedro Bianchi Prata (Honda) finishing second, who also won the veterans' classification.
