๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ“–Rallye Breslau: Lithuanian Point of View on LEG1

The first special stage of the Breslau Rally wasnโ€™t a walk in the park for the four-wheeled competitors. The 145 km distance, with 121 km against the clock, was a challenge for the competitors. The tank training area in Zagan tested both man and machine.

Rollovers, technical problems, including the leaderโ€™s, punctures, difficult navigation and insufficient fuel to reach the finish line forced some competitors to push their cars to the finish line by hand.

Letโ€™s hear from the Lithuanian competitors as they share their impressions of the day.

Hello, I am Saulius. I am participating in the Breslau Rally for the fourth time. In all rallies, as well as this one, our entire team was accompanied by Arลซnas Gielaลกningas and Emilija Gelazninkiene. For this, we want to thank them very much. Our entire team is wonderful. The organization is of a high level, especially this year, everything is very satisfactory. The tracks are good, and so far we have completed only two special stages, let's say. But everything is satisfying, and everything is very good.

Now I would like to talk to Edward, our newcomer. Edward, what do you have to say as a newcomer?

This is my first Breslau Rally, I have participated in other, larger rallies before, and the impressions are really good. With a good team, everything seems easier and smoother. You arrive, enjoy the good weather, good tracks, and great company.

Tomas and Kasparas, please share. In short, how is the rally so far? It's a fast rally, we started quickly, trying to follow the roadbook. It is what it is, but we are trying. Overall, everything is very good. As for the results so far, I think, for us at least, they are quite good results.

RIHARDS FINSTERS

๐ŸŽคHey, my name is Jurijs. We are a team from Latvia. First time driving somewhere else. Somewhere else, not in our little country. Somewhere biggest. Interesting day after second stage. Dirty, same like yesterday. I think same like tomorrow. Dirt is, I think, many dirty, not like in my country. We are cleanest after us stage. But that's good. Navigation is good, interesting. And then so big, so big sand. And it's very, very, very hard sand, actually. It's here, but very interesting experience. Motorcycle. Good? Yes, it's a little bit heavy. But if we look on my team, guys, one motorcycle. I have a very light motorcycle. It's ok. Interesting day. See what's for tomorrow.

I don't know what to say. The day was interesting. The track is much harder than we used to. Many soft sand and deep sand holes and so on. The big bike is not so easy, but we manage it.

My name is Richard. Today for me is free because yesterday in the first stage I crashed. It wasn't so big crash, it was like stupid mistake from me. I fall on my shoulder and my collarbone is like dislocated and the game over is for this race and now I'm supporting my teammates and cheering like, let's go Salvis, go full throttle, Juris be careful, you are not so young, yeah, let's go. It's like this, sometimes shit, sometimes not shit.
Rallye Breslau, Leg 2. Enduro: faster, harder, more difficult

The second stage of the Rallye Breslau was also held on the grounds of the military polygons around ลปagaล„ (143.34 km distance). The same fragments were used as yesterday - with sand, potholes, bumps, and complicated navigational conditions.

AURIMAS LEKAVICIUS

๐ŸŽคWell, hello. It's the second day of the Breslau Rally. Here we are at Ritramo Racing. Yesterday we had some minor issues, you could say, one driveshaft, one wheel, so today started with, well, minor problems. We dismounted one wheel. Then, in the first quarter of the stage, I started to smell rubber, feeling something was off, and we thought, well, something is burning a bit. We realized it was probably the driveshaft boot, so we buried the first driveshaft. Then we continued, and then we were left without the second rear driveshaft, so we were left with only the front and one rear driveshaft. And then, well, we completed the first part, went into the second part after the neutralization, and then we were left with just one driveshaft. So, well, it's very good that, well, both arms are intact, as some people's aren't.

Because the driveshafts snapped, one at the inner edge, the other at the outer edge. So from two driveshafts, we put together one, and we managed with one driveshaft, thanks to our colleagues. In short, we installed the rear driveshafts and finished the stage with rear-wheel drive. We don't know exactly, but we probably didn't make it within the time limit, as I think we were short by 5 minutes. But we tried. Of course, we are not giving up, we will continue again.

The navigation was difficult, but we didn't make any major mistakes, we managed everything except for one place. We took a wrong turn but quickly turned back and got on the right track. The navigation was challenging, but we managed to handle it. Aurimas did very well with the navigation. It was really tough navigation. I think, today, without talking to anyone else yet, but I think that indeed, indeed, indeed, many made mistakes.

JONAS RAUDELIUNAS, Team Principal ATV-PRO Service

๐ŸŽคHello, my name is Jonas. I am maybe fourth or fifth time in the Breslau Rally. Two or three rallies I tried to be a driver, now I'm just a kind of team manager. This year we bring something like seven cars to this event. We have quite strong teams. One of the teams from the Dakar Rally with a girl driver. Quite a difficult rally, different from other races. It's quite fun to be there. Quite some kind of vacation and it's a very good... I don't know.

Today was quite hard stage. Guys got some... I don't know. Issues. Not the issues, but... Some dust. It's race stuff. It's really hard to run when you have three loops and you mix it with a truck, with the bicycles, with the cars, with everything. So this year we got some really fast drivers, some new guys who is already coming back. And yesterday we crashed one car. One of the strongest team I think but got issues with the pooling yesterday So they hopes for this race good result is kind of disappears a little sad

The gold girl driver is quite good. I guess in today she's in seventh place, yesterday it was three or four. Pushing pushing. Other guys Estonians are one of them is second time, another one is first time, so it's quite happy day, all the event. Other guys are usual off-road drivers, living off-road style, so having good fun.

Jan van Gerven & Rudolf Meijer (NLD) #434 SSV category

๐ŸŽคIt was the same area as yesterday, so all the tracks were broken. Sand everywhere, buggies everywhere, bikes everywhere. Everybody was driving the same loop and loop again, but in different directions. So it was really difficult to keep track of the main track. Sometimes quite dangerous, because you see other competitors in a different direction, full speed. So there were two times we had to get off the main track and around the ATVs and around the bikes.

It was so crowded over there, they were looking for a waypoint and we had to make some space. But overall we had a good day, no mistakes, no problems. Everything went smooth.

How difficult to open the stage all day today?

Opening the stage this morning we thought this can be quite difficult. Well done. It was not so bad. We took off 10-20% of the speed so we could have a good look where to enter the forest, where to exit the forest to make no mistakes. We made a little mistake. 20, 30 seconds. The wrong road. Like 60 meters too early to the right. But we should have gone 60 meters later. But it was better. The car is beautiful. And we hope tomorrow we go for the hat-trick. Hat-trick? Would be nice.
