🎤Finishing the first stage this morning here in Greece, very twisty, many kinds of gravel, constant changes, narrow, stones, rocky, very technique in every sense. We found in the middle of the stage Ferreira going slow with some technical problems, I believe. And then, around the kilometre 115, we found Al Rajhi with one wheel outside. I don't know if they had a punch or a problem. It's complicated, really complicated. Difficult to push hard because it's plenty of risk, cliffs everywhere. Let's try to continue conservative, to move forward and let's continue trying to do our best.

Baja Greece 2024, Stage 1, SS 1 (Challenger)
A really difficult special stage Mesopotamia - a distance of 151.31 km, narrow tight roads on mountain slopes, hundreds and even thousands of turns. Fortunately, the weather was good, otherwise the participants would have just drowned in mud like last year.
Fastest on SS1 was Ghislain de Mévius (GRally OT3), who also leads the overall race standings. Less than half a minute behind is Eduardo Pons on the Taurus T3 Max. Third position in both the overall and Challenger standings is held by Lionel Baud (GRally OT3).
João Ferreira (Can-Am Factory Team) had serious problems - the Portuguese was off the track and is now waiting for help to get back on the road.
The average speed of the winner of the special stage was 67.71 km/h - a great result on such a difficult track.

🎤I just completed the full 150 km stage of Baja Greece. It was a very mountainous and twisty narrow stage, with some slippery sections making it quite risky, so I drove cautiously with the goal of getting used to the car. Although there weren't any major issues along the way, the wipers stopped working, which might have caused us to lose 3 to 4 minutes. Nonetheless, we made it back safely. From here, I hope to gradually get a better feel for the car's pace and increase our speed bit by bit.

The most serious problems were encountered by Yazeed Al-Rajhi when the brake system on his Toyota Hilux Overdrive T1+ was damaged. After repairs he was able to finish, but lost nearly 45 minutes of time!
The winner of the morning special stage in the Ultimate classification was Miroslav Zapletal in a Ford F150 Evo+, who also finished fourth overall.
Akira Miura, who successfully started his debut race in a Toyota Hilux Overdrive T1+ (fifth overall), was a minute and a half behind. Magdalena Zając in the Toyota Hilux class T1.1 is now in third position in the Ultimate standings.

🎤We had mainly a good stage, a few technical problems with the whippers. We had to stop a few times just to put the whippers back on the windscreen. But for the rest, it was OK, a very nice stage, good condition, not too much cleaning. Some parts there was a little gravel, but for the main part I think it was not too much cleaning. So it was good for me and a very enjoyable stage.
What did you tell about the engine?
Yeah, I mean, when we go that up in this stage at the top, it's like driving a 50cc engine. It's like nothing in it, but it's the same for everybody.
How difficult was it to open the stage?
Well, it was my first time to open the stage, but it was OK as there is not much navigation in this stage. You just need to be careful with the cleaning and there are no marks at all. So sometimes you get a bit surprised with the corners.

It was a difficult stage for us, because it was a very nice stage, a very technical stage. As we had no windscreen, we had a lot of water inside the car, so it was not really comfortable. But it was nice. We could see a very big bear in the truck, so we were very impressed. So we had to be careful not to stop the truck. We had to go as fast as possible.

It's a curious coincidence that in all three categories (Ultimate, Challenger, SSV), the winner of yesterday's prologue is bound to run into trouble on the first special stage.
While in the Ultimate and Challenger categories Yazeed Al-Rajhi and João Ferreira were suffering this morning, Amerigo Ventura on a Yamaha was unlucky in the SSV classification - he rolled over and was unable to finish the SS1.
In the production SSV category, Fernando Álvarez on BRP Can-Am took the initiative, winning the first special stage and now leading by almost 3.5 min advantage. He also finished seventh overall.
A family battle in the Top 3 is awaited, with Miguel Toril (BRP Can-Am) second, four minutes ahead of his younger brother Alex Toril (BRP Can-Am).

🎤Well, we finished the first part of the stage of today, 150km, it was good, we did well, very well. The only problem in the last 60km we were behind another car in the dust all the time, so made us lose time, but anyway, we are happy because now we are first in the category and 7th overall, so happy about that. We will see this afternoon what happens. Maybe we don't have a problem with the dust, maybe we can try to push a little bit more, more space between us and the second one, in case we have a puncture or something like that. But anyway, we are happy, the day is wonderful, so a really good day for races, so we will see. This afternoon we will have more news.

Today, Claude Fournier, as you recognize me at my age, with my helmet in its current state, it was a very nice special stage. There wasn't too much water at the beginning, just a ford at one kilometer, and then nothing more. However, at the end, there was more mud, and it worked out well. There was some gravel at the end, which was quite slippery. I think we gained a place or two in the SSV category. You can see my car in its current state.
We went through muddy fords, and the man is almost in the same condition. Especially since we removed the windshield to see better at the beginning of the stage, but in the end, there was still mud. But it's normal, we'll manage. And this afternoon, so far, we've only done half. This afternoon, we will do the other half. I believe it's the same special stage as this morning. Another 150 and some kilometers. We'll see tonight.

🎤Baja Greece, first stage, I must say very nice stage, a proper WRC stage, in the mountains, lots of turns and corners and blind corners, so at the end we were struggling I think from the beginning with the brakes, really, we had to pump a lot to get a feeling for the brake and always losing the brake somehow and I think the brakes were getting very hot on these conditions and with some water crossings I think we cracked the brake disc and after 80-90 kmh we lost the brake nearly completely and we had to stop to investigate but we could not fix it and then unfortunately we had to go the last 50 km without any brake, it was quite scary downhill, a lot of turns just to brake with the engine but we survived and we are on the finish, lost a lot of time but okay at the end we need to try to fix the problem now to put new brakes and to see what the afternoon will bring us.

So we spend so much time in order to get the car straight and repair it now We are back in the assistance. We hope we can start back in this afternoon. The assistant should make the miracle But I'm really proud of them and I think they gonna make it. So let's keep the finger crossed and try to restart today.

One new addition to the calendar for 2025 is that the Fenix Rally will take place in October/November 2025.

Hello, everyone. Amerigo from Baja, Greece. Unfortunately, without the racing suit, for me and for my team, the race is over too early. Again, we put the car in park for a minute and we thought we can start after the assistance. The crew, back to me, made the miracle, put the car ready to start. But just before leaving the assistance, we got stopped for a safety issue. We had the cage that had a bump on it. So, following FIA rules, we agreed with that as a safety reason. We got stopped and we cannot start for tomorrow. I'm really sad about it because I love Greece and I love to ride my YXZ. So, that's the biggest bad touch for me and for the team. But we will be ready for the next round, that will be Italy, our home race.
