Four-time Dakar winner in the Stock (former T2) category, Akira Miura, is probably the most interesting participant in the Baja Greece. The Japanese driver, an official Toyota Autobody racer, is switching to a powerful prototype in the Ultimate category. It will again be a Toyota, this time a Toyota Hilux from the Overdrive Racing team.

🎤 This is my first challenge in Baja and my first time driving a T1 vehicle. Everything will be new for me. I’ve never been to Greece, but I have an image of its history, like the old shrines.

Every driver aims for the top category, including me. It’s my dream to race in the T1 category. I’m lucky because I can drive a TOYOTA.

I will race in Baja Greece in May and in Qatar in October. I need to learn about the T1 car and how to drive it. It’s important to understand the vehicle in Greece, then I’ll push harder in Qatar.

This is also important for TOYOTIRES. They are developing new tires for the T1 category. I need to feel the tires and give them feedback.

This is one of the experiences of my life. Maybe I will continue to race T2 in Dakar. But I hope to win overall in Dakar with this car someday. That’s the real goal of my life.
