Joao Ferreira (PRT), #200, X-raid MINI JCW Rally Plus, Ultimate Category, European Baja Cup

🎤Hello, we have just finished Baja Extremadura, first round of the European Cup. Today the day was long, the first stage was 170 km and this last one was 100 km. And we won both of the stages. So the first stage was really demanding for ourselves and for the car, with a lot of... the terrain was very hard. And this last stage was fast and very enjoyable to drive, some tricky in some parts, very narrow and twisty.

But we managed to finish in a good position. We won the race and we scored important points and we are very happy. I'm very grateful to the car that X-raid gave us, it was 200% reliable, very strong car. And another victory for me, together with Rapsol, our second race together. And we proved once again that the 100% renewable fuels are fast and we can push in the highest level possible. And I just want to thank you, finally, for my co-driver, Felipe Palmeiro, for the amazing job he did this weekend. And to all our sponsors, PRF, Rapsol, MD Group and Visitleria for allowing us to make this a great event.

🎤Yes, quite happy obviously on the last day today. We finished and we finished first, which is obviously incredible. Victory was not so easy in the beginning. We had some, how should I say, lots of water and lots of small issues. And then today, Joao was just fantastic. He really bring it to the top. Being 6th yesterday night and being now 1st, I think that was an incredible achievement. So, yes, I'm very happy about this one. And obviously for Maria, I'm very happy because she finished 3rd in the ultimate class, 10th overall. That's really a cool result for her. I'm very happy and I think it's very important for her for the championship here in Spain, where she's participating. So, really good. Keep on going like this.

I'm very very happy today because I finished this race and I'm very happy for the MINI team because in three places in Ultimates, there are two MINIs so it's a very very good result for our brand car. It was very tough, very challenge and for me special for me because it was my second international race with this car. I'm on the third place from Ultimates, tenth overall so I'm really happy with this result.

Rui Carneiro (PRT) #306, G Rally OT3, Challenger group, European Cup

🎤Hello, me and Ola finally made it. We came out from Extremadura with a win. It was very tough. After the first day, we lost 4 minutes in the last kilometers. We never gave up and we did everything we had to come to this point. We won the Challenger category, which is great, and finished the race with a podium. It's amazing. I have no words to describe the race. As you can understand by the name, Extremadura is a really hard race. I really like it and I'm very happy. We really need this victory and we are so happy to be here. We will come back soon. Regarding the European, we don't know yet, but we will see. To be continued...

🎤So, Baja Extremadura is over. We have locked our Hilux engine in the last stage. Actually, I think it happened because we had a hydro lock in the first stage today. So, sometimes, you know, you finish by the rules, not by finishing really the rally. So, in this case, we put the car into Park Fermet. We will receive a stage penalty. But as for other competitors, it was, this Baja was even harder. So, anyway, we're collecting points for third place. And, okay, I like to go and race, but sometimes you finish like that. And about plans for the season? I mean, our plans is European Cup for Bajas. But, yeah, we will see. In general, our idea is to be in next one in Italy. So, see you there and let's hope there we will have no difficulties.

🎤So, we finished Baja Estremadura. We finished in 5th overall and 3rd place in Challenger. We are quite happy with the result, but we think we can do a little bit better. We came here to try to fight for the victory. Unfortunately, today, this morning, we caught one driver and it was impossible to pass him. And the problems with the dust bring us a lot of problems. But ok, races are races, it's like that. So, in the end, this result is good for us. It's a podium in the first race of the OT3. So, we are quite happy with that. Let's think in another race. Thank you.

Márcio Santos, Santag Racing

🎤Hello, my name is Marcio, I'm part of the Santag Racing team and at the end of this race we we are happy about the work and the results, it could be better. Yesterday the day was almost perfect, we keep two OT3 and the two first positions. Today it was a little strange start at SS2 but we keep on fighting for the best result as possible. With João Dias we have a problem at SS3, he has a little issue with the car for his mistake but we are sorry for that.

We keep a third place in Challenger category with Armindo Araújo and we are happy for that. First race with OT3 and we have a podium so it's good for us and good for the team. I think in the future we can achieve more best results than this, we are looking forward for that and work. I have to give a big thanks to our mechanics, they made a huge job yesterday and today, and also to the G-Rally mechanics and team because it was good to work with them to achieve these results and a big thanks and congratulations for the win of OT3 and the podium and the overall category. It was very nice for everyone, it was a good weekend I think.

William Buller (GBR), #403, Yamaha YXZ1000R, SSV group, registered for European Baja Cup

Hi, we're at the end of the Extremadura Baja, it was an eventful day for me, we had some problems in the first stage after a crash, but the guys at Franco Sports and Yamaha done a really good job to get the car ready for the second stage today, we gave it all but it wasn't enough, with some work to do for the next round in Italy and I'm sure the team behind me can do a good job to work on the car and do what we have to do. All in all I think the Yamaha done well, I had no mechanical problems, the rally organisers, it was a great event, the tracks were amazing and I've learnt a lot and it was good to put another rally under my belt as I'm new to this sport, so I think the end result wasn't ideal but I've learnt plenty and it's been a good race.

🎤In the afternoon, well, in the late afternoon, in the last stage, we proceeded with caution, we had another small setback, we also managed it until the end, our goal was to finish the race, at least that was it, and even so we achieved fifth place in the European, so we're still in the race, we'll try to do better next time, so that's what happened, it wasn't a very positive weekend, but the minimum goal was achieved, to finish and to gather points. Thank you.

Robert Przybyłovski (POL) 30, KTM 450

🎤Hello everyone. A few words about today's stage, which, after a few significant changes, such as completely changing the tires, turned out to be like a completely different stage for me. I rode it very nicely, without any major obstacles, although the hand that got slightly injured yesterday kept bothering me, so I had to be careful not to fall in any way today, so I rode cautiously, but already in my own pace, in my own rhythm, as if I was enjoying it, having fun with this ride, but of course, cautiously.

Today's stage, I consider it well completed, well, let's say there was a small mishap, because there was a big puddle that sucked me in at the end, and I had to clean the bike, suck the water out of it, pull it away, but luckily the motorcycle started, I lost 5 minutes, well, that's rally. So fortunately, I reached the finish line today in one piece. I say, a lesson for me regarding preparation, as if after every rally, especially after today's.

I would also like to talk about yesterday, which was a very unlucky day for me, as if inappropriate, because it caused me to crash just 400 meters from the start, and then it was just about reaching the finish line. 5 stitches, some painkillers, let's keep going. Overall, a very cool rally, diverse terrain, more enduro-style, a bit of hard enduro sections, quite fast, quite twisty, climbs, descents.

I really enjoyed riding here, I think my teammates from the team are also satisfied. Of course, some minor mishaps and mistakes happened, well, it's hard for such a three-day rally not to have any, but overall, I rate the rally very highly. The preparations, the organization, how the route looked, how it was marked, how the roadbook was recomposed, how the dangerous places were marked, everything was as if top-notch. I think I would gladly come back here next year if the situation allows me, with the strength, health, and finances. See you next year. Thank you.

🎤I always speak English in interviews, but...

After receiving the final checks of our vehicle, everything went smoothly, so we are less worried now, but we are looking forward to the ceremony, which we know is always very nice in Spain. Well, it's our comeback after a year and a half break. We were a bit worried if we are still in shape, if we still know how to drive fast, but it seems okay. The equipment was great, performed well too. Darek, the co-driver, was excellent, without any mistakes, so we are happy to be here, entering the new season with such a great result. Thank you and greetings.
Baja Extremadura 2024 (Stock)

The Spanish Baja was a really hard challenge for participants in cars and SSVs - out of 41 crews, only 23 were able to complete the entire competition distance. And among these 23 lucky drivers was the only participant of the Stock category - Portuguese Fernando Manuel Barreiros on production Isuzu D-Max. He finished 21st in the overall standings (out of 28 qualified at the end of the race).

Thus, Barreiros started the season in the FIA European Baja Cup fruitfully - with 40 points in the Stock category standings at the results of the opening round of the series.

🎤Good afternoon to all our followers. Today, our intervention will be brief, as I want to thank my team for the preparation they did on the car and the speed with which they had it ready for this race. I want to thank Rui for the excellent navigation he provided today and yesterday, which led us to an excellent result, winning this race. And the third point is that indeed, for the third consecutive year, I win this race in the Stock category or formerly T2, and of course, I am very pleased.

I also want to give a word to the organization, which once again provided us with an excellent track, a track that suits our car, fast, with a good pace, a roadbook that I think was good and led to the result.

Good afternoon. I also want to thank Fernando Barreiros for inviting me to be at this level with him, winning races overall in the category he races.

I also want to thank the team for the way they treated the car in such a short time to be here at this level. And the organization, yes, I have done this race several times, and the organization always provides this level of a spectacular track, a demanding track, with a lot of navigation. And I also cannot fail to thank Fernando for the van he has, for the car he has because that is a stock tank. So it's a car with a resilience that I couldn't have imagined. I have always raced in T1, I had never raced in T2, and it's extraordinary. If I were to buy a pickup, I would buy an Isuzu. Thank you. Next race, Baja Italy for the European Championship. We'll be there. We'll be there. Wait for us in Italy.
Disqualification of competitor 405 Carlos Vento
Hani Alnoumesi (SAU) #109, Yamaha, Quad Category, FIM World Cup

🎤Today, we completed Stage 2, covering a distance of 300 km. It was a really long day. The first part was pretty easy and fast for me. But the second part was really tough, around 150 kilometers. There was a lot of water, and the track was rough from the cars ahead. Despite the challenges, we managed to finish well, securing second place in the quad category.

I enjoyed the Baja Extremadura this year; it felt different from last year, but in a good way. I like challenging races. Next race in my plan is Argentina, inshallah.
