Sebastien Delaunay about a track of the Italian Baja

🎤Hello, welcome in Pordenone for the Italian Baja 2024. And this year I'm not here to race, but it's my hometown now, we can say it like this. So I will help the organization, helping a little bit to do the roadbook and also some job for the organization.

This year, it's a little bit different, not so much a riverbed anymore, but more a technical track. We got a lot of heavy rain last few weeks, so you have a lot of puddles. It's more or less all marked on the road book, but you will enjoy if it doesn't have windscreen. And many, many tracks are very narrow and twisty between the grass and the trees so no big trees you will not destroy your windscreen because I cut it almost all was necessary but some place was very tricky very difficult to see so you have to take a little bit care because some twisty place in this area.

🎤Here we are at one of my favorite races of the calendar. I enjoyed a lot the last two editions. We finished second and last year we finished third. And this year we'll try to do our best to finish in the highest position possible. And we have just finished the shakedown. Everything went well. We did the scrutineering in the morning and the administrative checks. So let's say everything is ready for the first day of proper race tomorrow. It's a prologue, it's going to be a long prologue, not as short one as we are used to it, but it's going to be very fast and very technical as well, and we will do our best to score as many points as possible for the European Cup.

🎤Especially for our followers, we are already in Italy to compete for the 31st Italian Bsja. We have already completed the technical and administrative checks, so we are now making the final preparations on the car to compete in the two days of racing, with the prologue taking place tomorrow and three special stages on Saturday. I hope the weather stays as it is, with fantastic sunshine, despite the heavy rain in recent days.

But with this sunshine, I hope the weather helps dry up the water on the dirt roads, making them fast, as this race has been. Our expectations with the stock car are not high, but we will fight to the end for the best result, and the best result for us is always to win.

I also have to make a special announcement, which is our European Baja Cup in Regueiros - Baja Sharish. We will be there and invite everyone who can be there, whether to participate in the race or to see us in Portugal.

It's my fourth time in Baja Italia. Before it was World Cup, now it's European Cup. But I haven't got good memories from here. First time we roll on the prologue, roll the car. OK, we finished, but without good result. We won all stages, I think, that year, but this prologue was completely lose the time, so we haven't got good result.

Next year, when we were second with Michał, we rolled on the last stage.

Last year, what was last year? Gearbox broken on the first day and second day disc brake broken and we finished.

So I hope that this year will be much better for us. And we take from here some good memories. Maybe some good results even. So we see. We see how it looks.

What can you tell about the track here and navigation?

Navigation here is not so tricky, but okay, last year I was first on the road after the prologue and I think two or three times we cut the tapes because some guy from assist said no no it's not here, but I said no it's here, go! So we break the tape and it was good track, some mistake I think from organizer, but okay, when you are first on the road on the cross-country you can have some surprise.

🎤Hi, I'm William. We're here in the Italian Baja. It's Thursday. We're just finishing all the technical checks for the car. I think everything's went well. A few things to sort for the morning, but it shouldn't be any problems. First time for me in Italy at the Italian Baja, so I don't know what to expect. But everyone says there's a lot of water. A lot of the tracks are in the riverbed, so there could be stones. A lot of things to take care of. The format's quite straight, so either prologue or Friday, and then the stage is on Saturday, so it'll be quite intense on Saturday, but we'll give it all and see where we are in the end. I just want to thank Stirling Motorsport and Yamaha UK for making this opportunity for this weekend.
