Runway is the amount of time that a company can keep operating before it runs out of money.

It is determined by the amount of cash a company has, and the speed at which it is being spent.

➡️Example: if a startup has Rs 50 lakh in bank, and spends Rs 10 lakh every month. Then, it has a runway of 5 months (50 lakh/10 lakh).

A longer runway gives companies more time to grow and reach profitability.

An institution that provides money to banks or financial institutions in times of emergency.

As the name suggests, this happens when they run out of money and can not arrange it from elsewhere.

Usually, a country's central bank is the lender of last resort (Ex RBI in India, US Fed in the USA, etc).

This might prevent the entire financial system from collapsing and help keep the economy stable when things go wrong.
