Video Cover Feature

The Beta version of Telegram for Android 11.7.1 now allows you to select a cover for a video when publishing it. It allows choosing either a frame from the video or an image from your photo gallery.

Cover selection is available when publishing a video on a channel or when sending it to "Saved Messages". When posting a video to a channel, its duration must be at least 20 seconds, and when sending it to Saved Messages, there is no such restriction.

Paid Messages And Premium For Stars

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android 11.8, users received several new features related to stars.

• Paid Messages
Any user with a Telegram Premium subscription can set a price that any of their interlocutors will have to pay for sending a message in a private chat. You can set the price in the section "Settings › Privacy and Security › Messages". In the same section, you can set up exceptions: specify users who can send messages for free. You will receive 85% of all stars paid by their interlocutors, and the remaining 15% is the platform's commission.

• Withdrawal of Stars
Users will be able to withdraw stars from their personal balance. The corresponding button is already available in the "My stars" section, but does not work yet.

• Premium For Stars
Now you can pay for a gift subscription to Telegram Premium with stars. A three-month subscription costs 1,000 stars, a six-month subscription costs 1,500, and an annual subscription costs 2,500.

In addition, the application now allows you to pin gifts to your profile. To do this, go to the "My Profile" section, go to the "Gifts" tab, press and hold the desired gift, and then select the desired item in the menu that appears.

All functions are currently available only on the test server.

More Details About Your Chat Partner

The beta version of Telegram for Android 11.8 now provides additional information about users who start conversations with you.

The app now displays:
• Their country (based on their phone number).
• Any shared groups you have in common.
• When they joined Telegram.
• When they last updated their username or profile picture.
• Indicators showing whether the user is an official account, has third-party verification, or is just a regular user.
