"True black metal is a spirit of radicalism. It is extreme, unapologetic, and fanatical.
There are very few bands today that embody those ideas, with everyone struggling for popularity, some new angle, or totally corrupted and compromised by their surrender to leftist gatekeepers of a scene or their next paycheck.
Those who are actually extreme, who are militant, will be known by whether or not their message and their spirit is one of forbidden rebellion or not.
It is not radical in these days to say you are a Satanist, or to attack Christianity with the same boring slogans. But a real “satanic” nature, a Promethean one, is to be adversarial to the ruling powers, and I think that attitude is quite obvious today in a select few bands and people.
What cannot be criticized or attacked without censure? There’s the answer."
