📣📣Are you a UI/UX designer? Do you have a passion for designing beautiful and functional user experiences? Or Have a brilliant idea to contribute to the creation of an appealing design of the existing “Telebirr mobile application"?

GDG Addis would like to invite all the UI/UX designers to participate in the “Telebirr UI/UX competition”🎉🎊. This design contest intends to provide a platform for designers to show their talent, network with each other, and get a chance to win amazing awards!

By taking part in this contest, you will:

📌 Exercise product thinking by designing for users and organizational impact.
📌 Strive to design within the constraints of an existing design system.
📌 Experiment with creating a lean prototype for testing.
📌 Facilitate usability testing to identify issues.
📌 Use time boxes to boost your productivity.
📌 Extend your portfolio with a real-world project case study.
📌 Have a chance to win cool prizes.

You will get the chance to showcase your redesigned Telebirr concept on DevFest '22 event day, December 10, in which officials will get to choose the best projects and award them with attractive prizes.

Join us for a day of creativity and learning! Developers, designers, and creators of all stripes are welcomed. We want to share our enthusiasm for building apps in a low-stress, judgement-free environment.

The hackathon will take place on the DevFest event that is happening on Saturday, December 10 from 2PM to 5PM (8LT -11LT) at the Ethiopian Science and Technology Museum. We will set you a challenge to create solutions using a mobile app. Register individually or bring in your team and build amazing mobile apps.

Introducing Natnael Kebede

Natnael Kebede is a private researcher. He is driven to impact the youth to engage in science and technology and reach back to their community through innovations.

For this initiative, he co-founded a research and development center where educational content, technical knowledge, and exposure are shared among researchers, engineers, developers, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs.

Natnael will be presenting his keynote speech, titled “Engineering Industrious Ethiopia”, at DevFest’22 in the Ethiopia Science and Technology Museum on December 10.
GDGAddis proudly presents "Merkato" (መርካቶ), DevFest'22 Career Fair.

Merkato is a metaphorical expression that categorizes various software developers.

The Merkato, for example, has several types of locations, aka (በረንዳ), each with a name derived from the main item sold in that specific area.

Here at DevFest'22, we will have a Merkato session where you can network with individuals by going into their own tech-stack (በረንዳ).

DevFest’s Merkato will have 14 በረንዳዎች, which you can select swiftly from!

Due of the lack of women in technology, she started her business, "Phenom Technologies," in 2021. This company offers a variety of software advancements to various businesses in Ethiopia and elsewhere. founded the business recently with the goal of empowering and involving young women in technology.

Milka will be presenting her keynote speech, titled “Involving Women in Tech”, at DevFest’22 in the Ethiopia Science and Technology Museum on December 10.

He is a game developer and 3D character artist. He has been working on these two fields for the past 5 years. He has recently ventured into VR and AR games.

Biruk will be presenting his workshop, titled “Chewatacon: Building Games”, at DevFest’22 in the Ethiopia Science and Technology Museum on December 10.
