🚨🗣 Fabrizio Romano:

"Bryan Mbeumo wants to go to Manchester United. He wants to wear the United shirt, he wants to play at Old Trafford

"His PRIORITY is Man Utd, despite approaches from Arsenal, Newcastle and more clubs.

"He has an agreement with Utd."
🚨If Manchester United are serious about fixing their football, they need to stop treating the midfield like an afterthought.

Spending over £120 million on forwards like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo is exciting, sure. But it won’t solve the deeper issues that have plagued United for years.

This team doesn’t just struggle in the final third — it struggles to build from the back, progress through midfield, and control games.

Under Amorim, United often get pinned back by high presses or stifled by mid-blocks. The midfield lacks the composure and technical quality to break lines, switch play, or recycle possession effectively. Opponents know they can disrupt United's rhythm by cutting off passing lanes, forcing long balls, and waiting for mistakes.

Even with talents like Kobbie Mainoo, who brings composure and drive, the midfield remains thin. The departure of players like Scott McTominay, who offered physicality and box-to-box energy, has left a void.

Investing in forwards without addressing the midfield is like building a house on sand. Without a solid foundation, the attack can't function effectively. The midfield is the engine room — it dictates tempo, controls possession, and links defense to attack.

United need midfielders who are press-resistant, progressive, and intelligent in possession. Players who can receive under pressure, break lines, and dictate play. Without them, the team will continue to struggle, regardless of how many forwards they sign.

So, while the allure of new attackers is tempting, the priority must be the midfield. Fix the core, and the rest will follow. #MUFC
