Dr Anne McCloskey is a 67 year old Grandmother.
She appeared at Londonderry Magistrates' Court in connection with an unpaid Covid fine of £255.
She was given an immediate warrant to pay the amount or go to prison for 14 days.
She refused to pay on a point of principle.
The fine was imposed in 2022 for a 'breach of Covid regulations'.
The NI Court Service confirmed Dr McCloskey had been sent to Hydebank Wood Prison.
She didn't buckle so she could go and watch the football, she didn't buckle to get back to a cushy lifestyle.

It's with great sorrow I am to wake up to the tragic news of the passing of my dear friend Sue.
Sue was a true freedom warrior and was present at the start of the tyrannical lockdowns when it mattered and continued to led protests and outreaches big and small. I would often assist Sue and Cesca when visiting family in SE London.
I wish her family the best, including Cesca who too was always present with Sue leading the Worldwide Outreach organisation.

When Adam Rowland—horrendously injured and made terminally ill by Covid injections—tagged Britain's medicines regulator, the MHRA, on tweets about his health after taking the product they had licensed, they did not take an interest in how they could improve their public service using the information. Instead, he was blocked.
He then found that all those who talk on social media about having been injured by Covid injections had similarly been blocked by the MHRA and that he had been reported to the UK Health Security Agency as a threat for "misinformation".

Free Speech at Risk: UN Pushes for Global “Hate Speech” Eradication
In a statement issued on the occasion of the “International Day for Countering Hate Speech,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the global eradication of so-called “hate speech,” which he described as inherently toxic and entirely intolerable.
The issue of censoring “hate speech” stirs significant controversy, primarily due to the nebulous and subjective nature of its definition. At the heart of the debate is a profound concern: whoever defines what constitutes hate speech essentially holds the power to determine the limits of free expression.
This power, wielded without stringent checks and balances, leads to excessive censorship and suppression of dissenting voices, which is antithetical to the principles of a democratic society.
Guterres highlighted the historic and ongoing damage caused by hate speech, citing devastating examples such as Nazi Germany, Rwanda, and Bosnia to suggest that speech leads to violence and even crimes against humanity.
“Hate speech is a marker of discrimination, abuse, violence, conflict, and even crimes against humanity. We have time and again seen this play out from Nazi Germany to Rwanda, Bosnia and beyond. There is no acceptable level of hate speech; we must all work to eradicate it completely,” Guterres said.
