“Texas” Murder Investigation: One Suspect Released

Прошло 6 лет... Нет, не так. Пролетело 6 лет, а я помню тот день словно он случился вчера. Поглощающее чувство тревоги, которое обычно случается во время обстрелов, тогда накрыло весь Донецк. Захарченко "хоронили" неоднократно, но всякий раз он появлялся и опровергал любые вбросы о своей кончине. Но не в этот раз. Поздним вечером последнего дня лета 2018-го уже было понятно, что чуда не случится. На экранах не появится пусть и перемотанный бинтами и ослабленный ранениями Александр Владимирович и не скажет, что все в порядке.

Нужно было принять случившийся факт и учиться жить с ним. Кажется, что далеко не всем удалось это сделать. До сих пор встречаю людей, которые будто не смирились с тем, что Захарченко больше нет с нами. На место гибели первого Главы ДНР по сей день носят записки с извещениями о свершениях на фронте и в политическом поле. Свежие цветы там постоянно. Всякий раз можно встретить одинокого дончанина, стоящего молча перед входом в "Сепар", о чем-то думающего и смотрящего словно в пустоту.

Это был сильнейший удар по всем нам. 31 августа навсегда запечатало в себе ту трагедию. Этот день будет напоминать о том взрыве даже спустя года. И правильно было бы вспомнить светлые эпизоды, связанные с Александром Владимировичем. У каждого есть свое воспоминание о Захарченко. У меня тоже они есть, но 31 августа не могу думать ни о чем, кроме о том злополучном вечере 2018-го.

Батя, Донбасс помнит!

It's been six years... No, not this way. Six years have flown by but I remember that day as if it happened yesterday. An overwhelming feeling of anxiety, which usually happens during massive shelling, covered the whole Donetsk. Zakharchenko had been "buried" many times... but each time he appeared and denied any rumors about his death. But not this time. Late in the evening of the last day of summer 2018, it was already clear that a miracle would not happen. Even though bandaged and weakened by injuries, Alexander Vladimirovich would not appear on the screens and say that everything was fine.

We had to accept what happened and learn to live through it. It seems that not everyone has managed to cope with this. I still meet people who have not come to terms with the fact that Zakharchenko is no longer with us. To this day, notes of accomplishments on the frontline and in the political field are brought to the place of death of the first head of the DPR. There are always fresh flowers there. Every time you can meet a lonely Donetsk citizen standing silently in front of the entrance to the 'Separ' cafe, thinking about something and looking as if into the void.

It was the strongest blow to all of us. August 31 sealed that tragedy forever. This day will be a reminder of that explosion even years from now. And it would be right to remember the bright episodes associated with Alexander Vladimirovich. Everyone has his own memory of Zakharchenko. I have them too, but on August 31 I can't think of anything but that ill-fated evening of 2018.
