"will not" or "do not"
1οΈβ£ βThe car will not startβ.
We use 'sth will not ...' to describe refusal or failure to happen, often for machines or people.
Meaning: The car is trying to start but fails to, or is refusing to work.
Example:
- βThe printer wonβt print.β β The printer is not functioning.
So, βwonβtβ is about an expected action that does not occur, often temporarily.
2οΈβ£ βThis window is fixed and it does not open.β
We use "sth does not ..." to describe a permanent state or condition, not a temporary failure. Here, βfixedβ means permanently secured in place, not broken.
Example:
- βThe bridge is closed and it does not allow traffic.β β Permanent or long-term situation.
So, βdoes notβ describes a general truth or permanent feature, not a temporary action failing.

βοΈπIsnβt it amazing how the radio has survived? Itβs been 1-....... for maybe a hundred years and is still 2-........ strong. I donβt think 3-....... ever disappear. We all listen to the radio 4-...... some point in our week. Even with all our 5-....... technology, the radio is still an important way of getting music, 6-........... . I remember my first radio. Forty years ago now. It looks pretty much the same as todayβs radio. I used to listen to 7-......... on Saturdays. I still do that. I also loved breakfast radio. I love my iPod but when Iβm driving, I 8-........ the car radio. I like the mix of chat, jokes and songs, 9-........ I donβt always like the songs, the jokes or the chat. And some radio 10-......... are really annoying.πβοΈ
