Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

If others tell us something we make assumptions, and if they don't tell us something we make assumptions to fulfill our need to know and to replace the need to communicate. ... We make all sorts of assumptions because we don't have the courage to ask questions.

There is nothing very odd about lambs disliking birds of prey, but this is no reason for holding it
against large birds of prey that they carry off lambs. And when the lambs whisper among themselves,
βThese birds ofprey are evil, and does this not give us a right to say that whatever is the opposite of a
bird of prey must be good?β there is nothing intrinsically wrong with such an argumentβthough the
birds of prey will look somewhat quizzically and say, βWe have nothing against these good lambs; in
fact, we love them; nothing tastes better than a tender lamb.

As Hegel said, tragedy was not the conflict between right and wrong but right and right , a dilemma none of us who wanted participate in history could escape.

One of lifeβs counterintuitive lessons is that you will often gain energy by spending a little bit of energy.
When you feel lethargic and like you want to lay around all day, it is usually the case that getting up and moving will make you feel better than simply sitting around. Getting outside for 10 minutes or doing the first set of a workout or simply stretching on the floor for a moment β anything to get your body moving β will often leave you feeling more energized.
If you want to get your day going, then get your body going. Itβs harder for the mind to be sluggish when the body is moving.β

The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.

The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image. If in loving them we do not love what they are, but only their potential likeness to ourselves, then we do not love them: we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in them
