SMS is another core feature in a phone, so let's check out what the Messaging app has to offer.

The first page just showed all the messages that you received. Select any of the conversation and you will be able to archive, delete, add as contact or block the number. Tapping into any of the conversations and you will be able to send a message. It is also possible to send pictures, videos, audio and contact cards via MMS too. I like the way the section opens and it's smooth.

Tapping on the "+" lets you create a new conversation with your contacts. You can view your archived chat via the overflow menu. The settings page also lets you toggle outgoing message sounds, swipe to delete and more, with advanced settings letting you take control of MMS.

Besides, there are also two widgets in total, one showing a specific conversation and another one showed your conversation list.

Well, no doubt everyone should know what this thing do. We will be deep diving through the extra features that LineageOS offered over the coming weeks, stay tuned.

For this post, let's discuss about the Privacy section. It's actually quite different if you compared it to a Pixel, there's a permission usage section and keep in mind this is a screenshot from LineageOS 18.1. It let you glance through which permissions are being used over the last 24 hours time. You can learn more by tapping "See all in Dashboard" option.

Next, Trust. It used to offer Privacy Guard and option to toggle root access in the early days. Today's Trust only show status for SELinux, security & vendor patches and encryption. Further down you can restrict new USB gadgets, check LineageOS statistics and limit how many SMS message can be send out in one minute time. Lastly, there is security alerts for SELinux status and build signature.
