Attention all device and ROM communities,

It has come to our attention that EvolutionX ROM has been engaging in the reprehensible practice of doxxing individuals' personal information. This behavior is completely unacceptable and goes against the principles of respect, privacy, and safety within our community. While we understand that some public information and pictures regarding EvolutionX team were posted by some bad actors, this doesn't give them the right to find people's private information including bank information and posting them publicly, we highly condemn these acts.

We strongly condemn the actions of EvolutionX ROM and urge all members of our community to boycott their ROM until they cease their harmful activities. Let us send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated in our community.

We call upon all device and ROM communities to stand together in solidarity and refuse to support EvolutionX until they rectify their actions and commit to upholding the values of privacy and respect.

Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter. Please report all such acts and messages to telegram.

📁 LineageOS 21 First Official Build Archive for Pixel & Pixel XL
Not really some major leap in the Pixel 1 community, but we will keep up with the tradition of archiving the first build of each new LineageOS version. Here we come Android 14.

Since LineageOS 21 was just freshly released like a few weeks ago, many improvements would be coming over the next few months of the journey, two more QPRs to go and hopefully it gets better over each release.

Not to mention their app suites also got an overhaul in this version, and there are many more things to be improvised from here onwards. Well, enjoy LineageOS 21 if you are using it.

The health of your Pixel #Blog
Every year, we just came to ask the community whether they are still using Pixel or not. Over time, the number will just decrease as it couldn't catch up with the demand or it just decided it's the time to stop the service.

Being a first generation product, usually it's a collectors' favourite as it represents the beginning of something, which means the device itself could be well valuable, just like the original iPhone. When other devices out there are basically a corpse and yours happened to work, this makes it a rarer occasion, hence more value too.

Well yeah, one can still buy a second hand Pixel off the market for like less than $100 right now, but as time passes by, when many of these devices cease to work, that's when the time will arrive, but that's the case for another few decades to come.

Despite taking attentive care to the phone itself, the hardware just kind of wears off over time quicker compared to other models from brands we know of. Audio IC being most people's nightmare, and a few on UFS storage, camera, etc. This forced people to switch to a better device earlier than usual and probably left bad images to normie who might never consider them again.

Anyway, if you are still in this community, chances are your Pixel 1 is still working, with a minority joining here just for something else. You are probably chosen for being a loyal Pixel fan, or you received a flawless unit, and the list goes on. Let's see how your PIxel is standing up so far till now.

Android 14 QPR2 might kill off legacy devices #Blog
Humans always just take things as granted when they thought it would be there forever, only until it's missing some will start to question it. Just one month after LineageOS 21 was announced, one big issue came along.

It's been a week since LineageOS did not release a single build for Android 14, and around this time we had expected the "overhaul" QPR2 update. Apparently, the changes were so large that it actually affects the whole custom ROM community out there, which kind of explains why there's no ROMs that have released an update recently.

I thought it would be resolved in a few days but no, and apparently the impact was so huge that 40% of the devices would be dropped off the LineageOS build roster, including the first Pixel till the 3a series. It's said that the team is working on a wrapper for older radio HAL versions to work with newer versions but no guarantee.

The reason for all of this chaos, blame Google. I don't know if I should say this is good, but Quarterly Platform Release is a release model where Google puts in all those new features that should only be introduced in the next major Android version update. It's kind of a mess I would say, two separated beta channels and now both OTA images are broken. They should have just focused on bug fixes in Android 14 and experimenting new features on Android 15.

Affected devices are those which utilise [email protected] or older. Rest of the devices on the roster are on hold but should be receiving updates in a day or two. We can only wish there's a genius out there willing to lend a hand and make it happen, just like the kernel v4.4 backport for the original Pixel series.
