Repartitioning your Pixel/Pixel XL
A dedicated post about the partition thing for Pixel & Pixel XL. Over here there will be the way on how to do it and down below you will find scripts to expand your system partition and revert back the process.
Repartition
If you want to install Android 13 or later versions, you are required to go through this step in order to continue with the installation.
This will be irrelevant for most people but if you care what was being modified, here's the changes:
vendor: 300MiB → 428MiB (+0.125*2GiB)
system: 2GiB → 3.55GiB (+1.55*2GiB)
userspace: 24.83GiB → 21.48GiB // 114.21GiB → 110.86GiB (-3.35GiB)
There is also a revised version of the script for both, the difference is that I have added a little bit more contexts and checks. Meanwhile the original script for 32GB model has some minor flaws (8 KiB wasted), which inspired me to create a revised version. Anyway any of the scripts will work, the option is up to you here.
1. Download: 32GB (Revised) | 128GB (Revised)
2. (Optional) Rename the file to
4.
5. LineageOS Recovery: Click "Continue" on the "Signature verification failed" screen.
6. If it's successful, you will see "Done!" printed on the screen.
*Reference (2)
Original partition
You did the repartition process but wanted to get it back to its original state. You are in luck.
1. The safest option, obviously, is to get the factory images from Google (Pixel, Pixel XL).
2. For those who doesn't want to download the full 1GB+ image and go through the long boring flashing process, step is the same as written above (32GB, 128GB).

Pixel 1 owners can finally enjoy Android 13
LineageOS Gerrit
For a very long time, the Pixel devices have been receiving support from the custom ROM communities, but as time passed by, things are getting tougher as Google stopped updating those old devices. The first generation Pixel device is one of the prime examples at this time, after being stuck on Android 11 development for nearly three years time, it seems like we finally have a new dessert to try out.
All this was possible by a community member rootfan, and also big appreciation to @npjohnson for bringing up the device tree. Now both of these devices will be receiving weekly builds fresh right off from LineageOS, Pixel XL (marlin) on Wednesday and Pixel (sailfish) on Saturday.
As Android 13 is now feasible for the first generation Pixel device, hopefully other maintainers could start to build other ROMs too with the existing device tree. One small step, one giant leap for the Pixel 1 community.

📁 LineageOS 18.1 Last Official Build Archive for Pixel & Pixel XL
Who ever thought that these devices will get promoted, at least not me. Originally planned to be deprecated by Feb 2023, but the team just decided to move 18.1 branch over to a monthly release. As you might have guessed, this is the longest supported LineageOS version ever.
With the promotion being done for the two legacy devices, old builds will start to vanish from our views over time, which is why build archives exist. We even have a first build archive for it for some weird reasons, actually just wanted to check whether there is any noticeable difference after all this time.
Over here, we have archived LineageOS 18.1 builds and it is available right above this post. If you are interested in older builds instead, check out LineageOS 16 & LineageOS 17.1 posts respectively.

Android 13 for Pixel #Blog
This post is seeing the light of day once LineageOS promoted the device to the Android 13 build roster. And yeah, on September 7, this is finally a thing.
For a long time, the development has pretty much paused over at Android 11 as Android 12 has some harsh requirements which the Pixel 1 didn't fulfill by default. Some developers tried their best to build it but still ended up with a non-bootable build. After that, everything was just left aside, with Android 11 ROMs continuing to receive security patches update.
One day out of the blue, a XDA thread surfaced. Everything is normal at first, LineageOS 20, Android 13, unofficial build, Google Pixel... wait, XL? No number at the front? That means it's for the first generation Pixel, unbelievable. It's kind of a shame when older devices could boot the latest Android version while ours are just stuck at Android 11, but well, I guess the title is finally coming to an end.
One such build inspired a few developers to start putting effort to the device tree. Nolen Johnson is the LineageOS maintainer for the first generation Pixel as we have all known of, since the debut of the Android 13 build, he changed his mind to revive the development for the device again, but not until a few months later, the hard work has finally paid off.
Yup, Pixel 1 devices can finally enjoy Android 13 LineageOS weekly build before Android 14 is released. Anyway, it's so nice to see it becoming a truth in front of us. Hopefully it could continue receiving support till at least the Pixel 10 is released, finger cross. Of course, the longer, the better.

📁 LineageOS 20.0 First Official Build Archive for Pixel & Pixel XL
I can't be sure but is this the first device supported by LineageOS to get promote by skipping over one version release? At least it is one of the few ones.
Anyway, welcome to the LineageOS 20 club. We actually managed to experience the latest Android version for a slight moment again. Just another first build archive to record down the momentous day for the Pixel 1 community.
Good things must come to an end, so seems like our Pixel 1 ain't a good thing huh (UFS, microphone, camera...). Going forward there will be weekly update for these two devices, so the channel will be back to normal operation once again.
