An American warship and multiple commercial ships came under attack Sunday in the Red Sea, the Pentagon said, potentially marking a major escalation in a series of maritime attacks in the Mideast linked to the Israel-Hamas war.
“We’re aware of reports regarding attacks on the USS Carney and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and will provide information as it becomes available,” the Pentagon said.
A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters, said the attack began about 10 a.m. in Sanaa, Yemen, and had gone on for as much as five hours. Another U.S. official said the Carney had intercepted at least one drone during the attack.

The U.S. military says three commercial ships in the Red Sea were struck by ballistic missiles fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen, and a U.S. warship shot down three drones in self-defense during the hourslong assault.

According to the reporting of @shellenberger on the CTIL files...
Just before leaving office, the Obama White House ordered the creation of a "counter-disinformation project to stop a 'repeat of 2016.'" A "former" British intelligence analyst was in the room and went on to be a leader of the CTIL.
The CTIL included members of UK intelligence and military. They would conduct offensive influence operations including operations surrounding the 2020 election.
This activity is exactly what the intelligence community has accused Russia of doing in both 2016 and 2020.
This also fits the definition of "foreign interference" as outlined in EO 13848.
