Alisson: “Ederson’s a fantastic guy. We have a really good relationship. I like the way Ederson is composed, cool with the ball at his feet... When I look at him, I see this is the way I have to play; cooler with the ball at my feet, even under pressure.”
John Stones on Rodri's injury: “Difficult news for us all to take. I actually spoke to Rodri yesterday and he's doing well, recovered [from surgery] well.

It's sad for the standard that he's set over the past few seasons, it's been incredible. We know what a key player he is for us, and we've got now to look forward to him coming back, and hopefully coming back quickly.

We wish him a speedy recovery - which we know is going to be a long time. But a lot of quality in a lot of players that are more than capable of filling in in that position.”
John Stones on speaking with Rodri: “He was good, in good spirits. I think now he knows what's happened and knows his process to get back, he's come to terms with it and he seemed in good spirits, which I'm glad.

Obviously we check in, I think he's over in Spain with his family. He needs to take some time now and relax and recover the best he can.”
John Stones on playing in midfield: “I love it!

It's a totally different look on the game and appreciation for the game of players that have played in there. An understanding of the game, learning from a defender's point of view when to receive the ball, when to pass the ball, appreciation of the guys that play that role so regularly.

I always enjoy it and try to improve every time I go in there, I give my best. I think that's all the manager wants from us is to go and show our qualities, because he puts us there for a reason. Then it's about us going and doing the job.”
John Stones: “I think that's why we've been so successful over the years. Everyone has played a massive part in that success, and playing the role when called upon.

For instance, coming on at Arsenal, ending up scoring the winning goal, and that was my time to be ready when called upon - as have other players doing the same!

I wish we could play every game, but we have an incredible squad, a very busy schedule, and being ready for when he [Pep Guardiola] wants us!”
