The Russian government is lying. Putin's speech is complete nonsense.
He looks like an elderly child who is offended that Ukraine is pursuing a policy of de-communization.
They have a huge country with huge opportunities, but they do nothing about it. Putin and his friends keep stealing people's money. All the efforts go into maintaining credibility in the eyes of the elderly people who grew up in the USSR and keep blaming America for their troubles and poverty.
Shame. Stop war.
