We are excited to announce a collaborative discussion with a team from Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU Africa) on September 30, 2024 which starts at 1:30 pm.
This event promises to offer our students and alumni valuable multi-dimensional opportunities and will take place in the Red Carpet Conference Room.

With over 21 years of experience in academic and institutional leadership, Dr. Wondwossen is spearheading the Digitalization and Infrastructure initiatives at Addis Ababa University, guiding Ethiopiaβs first autonomous university through a transformative journey. He has made significant contributions as an Assistant Professor at the School of Information Science, leading impactful E-learning and organizational change projects.
Dr. Wondwossen did research on machine learning and natural language processing (NLP), focusing on local languages like Amharic. He explored how supervised machine learning can handle the morphological complexities of Amharic and worked on Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for Amharic manuscripts, advancing the field of computational linguistics.
Dr. Wondwossen also served as a Board Director at Zemen Bank, where he plays a key role in IT security, audit, and strategic direction for the bankβs technological innovations.
