Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 229

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,

"A man came across a thorn in the road and said, 'I will remove this thorn so that it does not harm a Muslim man.' For that reason he was forgiven."

Explanation:

(1) It seems like a trivial act to remove something painful from people, but this penetration is the means of heaven. Although its apparent meaning is to remove stones, thorns, etc. which may cause pain to people passing by, but it also means trying to remove anything that bothers people.

The second thing is that a person who can understand the sentiments of others that he can not even dare to prick a Muslim with a thorn. He will certainly be very considerate of the rights of Allah, the Creator of all creation, and he who upholds the rights of the Creator will surely be in Paradise.

(2) This hadith does not mean that a person just cleans the road without caring about the basic duties of Islam such as prayer, fasting and Hajj, Zakat etc,so as to become a Jannati as some Sufis derive this meaning from such hadiths, or the officials of many charitable organizations and their workers are indifferent to the rites of Islam and consider the service of the people as everything. Because fulfillment of duty comes first.

(3) In such matters of good, it is necessary that the person who does this is a Muslim and his intention is to please Allah and remove suffering from the creatures.

(4) It can be estimated from these hadiths that if keeping the path of people clean is such a great reward, then blocking their path or throwing dirt on them will be a great sin. Nowadays, marriages and even religious programs are conducted by blocking the main road, but our rallies and processions are not considered successful until the people are tortured.

To save Allah's servants this agony, the master of authority ought to forbid all meetings and processions on the squares and highways.

الادب المفرد 229

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:

’’ایک آدمی راستے میں پڑے ایک کانٹے کے پاس سے گزرا تو اس نے کہا:میں یہ کانٹا ضرور راستے سے ہٹاؤں گا تاکہ یہ کسی مسلمان کو تکلیف نہ دے تو اسے (اس عمل کی وجہ سے)معاف کر دیا گیا۔‘‘

تشریح :

(۱) بظاہر معمولی عمل ہے کہ لوگوں سے تکلیف دہ چیز دور کرو لیکن یہ دخول جنت کا ذریعہ ہے۔ اگرچہ اس کے ظاہری معنی یہ ہیں کہ پتھر، کانٹا وغیرہ جو لوگوں کو گزرتے ہوئے تکلیف دے اسے دور کیا جائے لیکن اس میں یہ معنی بھی آتے ہیں کہ جو چیز بھی لوگوں کو پریشان کرے اسے دور کرنے کی کوشش کی جائے۔

دوسری بات یہ ہے کہ جو شخص اتنا حساس ہے کہ کسی مسلمان کو کانٹا چبھنا بھی گوارا نہیں کرتا وہ یقیناً اللہ کے حقوق کا بہت زیادہ خیال رکھنے والا ہوگا جو تمام مخلوق کا خالق ہے اور خالق کے حقوق کی پاسداری کرنے والا یقیناً جنتی ہے۔

(۲) اس حدیث کا یہ مطلب ہرگز نہیں کہ کوئی انسان اسلام کے بنیادی فرائض نماز، روزہ اور حج، زکاۃ وغیرہ کی پروا کیے بغیر بس راستہ صاف کرتا پھرے تو وہ جنتی بن جائے گا جیسا کہ بعض صوفیاء اس طرح کی احادیث سے یہ مطلب اخذ کرتے ہیں یا کئی رفاہی تنظیموں کے ذمہ داران اور ان کے کارکنان شعائر اسلام سے بے نیاز ہو کر خدمتِ خلق کو ہی سب کچھ سمجھے بیٹھے ہیں۔ کیونکہ فرائض کی ادائیگی سب سے پہلے ہے۔

(۳) اس طرح کے امور خیر میں ضروری ہے کہ ایسا کرنے والا شخص مسلمان ہو اور اس کی نیت بھی اللہ کی خوشنودی اور مخلوق سے تکلیف کو دور کرنا ہو۔

(۴) ان احادیث سے اندازہ لگایا جاسکتا ہے کہ اگر لوگوں کے راستے کو صاف رکھنا اتنا بڑا ثواب کا کام ہے تو ان کے راستے روکنا یا ان پر گندگی پھینکنا کتنا بڑا گناہ ہوگا۔ عصر حاضر میں شادی بیاہ حتی کہ مذہبی پروگرام بھی مین روڈ بند کرکے کیے جاتے ہیں بلکہ جب تک عوام کو اذیت نہ دی جائے اس وقت تک ہمارے جلسے جلوس کامیاب معلوم ہی نہیں ہوتے۔

ارباب اقتدار کو چاہیے کہ چوکوں اور روڈوں پر جلسہ و جلوس کرنے پر مکمل پابندی عائد کرے تاکہ مخلوق خدا کو اس اذیت سے چھٹکارا نصیب ہو۔
